JeevanKala products
JeevanKala products are handcrafted by artisans from the remote mountain villages of Lapa, Tipling and Shertung in the Himalayas. Most artisans are single mothers, widows and people with disabilities. Many of these people are considered “untouchables” (the lowest level in the caste system of Nepal and India). More than 1,000 artisans have been trained and hired through JeevanKala - a project developed by the American Himalayan HealthCare Foundation. Himalayan HealthCare is a non-profit charitable organization that has been operating in Nepal for 25 years. They help develop sustainable programs for health, education and income generation.
