Blood orange is a citrus fruit with deep red flesh and reddish peel that is cultivated in the Mediterranean region. Orange trees are evergreen and grow up to 10 meters high. They are divided into four categories: blonde, navel, bitter oranges and the acid-free oranges. A sought-after, vitamin-rich, sour-tart fruit juice is made from the slightly smaller blood oranges.
