Kola nuts can be eaten directly, but you should make sure that the nuts are very hard.
They have stimulating properties for both the body and the mind.
Rich in theobromine and caffeine, kola nuts also promote endurance and physical activity.

The kola nut contains around 3.5% caffeine, which is around twice the coffee content.
It is used in exotic foods and also sold as a dietary supplement.

The use of the nuts of the cola tree by humans goes back a long way.
West African cultures are known to chew the nuts to restore vitality.
In certain cultures, the kola nut is also linked to traditional spiritual practices. The nut itself is considered a religious object and is used as a sacred offering in prayers and important ceremonies.

Kola nuts are not exactly known for their delicious taste - in fact, they are very bitter. For this reason, they are often mixed into drinks or consumed with sweet foods.

Pregnant women, children and people with severe high blood pressure should not consume the nut or only consume it in very small quantities. It is also not recommended to consume the ground kola nut shortly before bedtime due to its stimulating effect.

To smoke, place some of the crushed kola nut in a fireproof bowl and smoke the plant material.
