Clary sage is a biennial plant with large hairy leaves and strongly fragrant blue-pink flowers that is cultivated in the Mediterranean region. Clary sage grows up to 1.5 meters high and, like many mint plants, is a pasture for bees. In natural medicine it is used for skin problems, muscle, stomach and cold complaints as well as for nervous tension; it is also used in perfumery and for food flavoring (muscat wines).
