Rosemary is a typical plant of the garrigue and maquis, but is also cultivated as a spice plant. In ancient times, rosemary was dedicated to Aphrodite and symbolized loyalty. Rosemary was part of the famous "Hungarian Water", one of the oldest perfumes. It is part of the "Herbs of Provence" seasoning mixture and an important raw material for perfumery, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.
